Lord Strapshire is the most-eligible bachelor in town, and he has set his sights on the lovely Bianca Davidson. It’s too bad that Bianca finds him to be an insufferable boor. In order to deflect his attention, Bianca plans to ask Mathew Hensley to pretend to court her. The problem is, Bianca hasn’t spoken to Mr. Hensley since they were both involved in a particularly embarrassing incident years before. But he owes her a favor, and Mr. Hensley might be Bianca’s only hope.
A Lady Favor eBook Josi S Kilpack
Bianca Davidson is at first very flattered when Lord Strapshire begins to show a marked interest in her. The more time the spend together the more she realizes he is nothing more than a handsome face, with not much else to offer. He reminded me quite of bit of Professor Gilderoy Lockhart (Harry Potter), at least that's who I kept picturing. Bianca is at a loss, Strapshire wont take the hint and her mother is encouraging the match. Her only option is to find someone else to court her. Luckily or unfortunately, her neighbor Mathew Hensley owes her a favor. They've avoided each other for years, but now it's time for him to pay up.I thought this was a fun regency. I like "fake relationship" tropes they always seem to add a lot of fun to a story. Mathew and Bianca have great chemistry and it was fun to see them try and thwart Strapshires courtship plans. If you enjoy regencies then I'd recommend this light escape.

A Lady Favor eBook Josi S Kilpack Reviews
I like Josie Kilpack anyway, and this short book did not disappoint. Good characters, fiesty heroine, kind hero, and satisfying conclusion-and it's fun
This was a light and fun read. I enjoyed the eternal mother daughter power struggle for control. Loved the pompous Baron and the kind neighbor willing to help. Enjoyed the little mystery about the "incident" in the beginning and laughed at the reveal! More like this please!!!!
I like Josi Kilpack books. She's writes clean romances. I was surprised at the type of "incident" that kept being referred to. I guess reading so many books made me think one thing, but Ms. Kilpack had something totally different in mind. It was a nice paced book and well written.
Oh my, how I adored every word in this adventure between Bianca and Mathew! Just what I was hoping for - romance, jealous buffoons, rescuing heroes and a few swoony kisses to make it just right. A must read!
There are a lot of writers in the regency genre who are pumping out titles, and many/most are cheaper than Kilpack kindle books, but I have never been disappointed after springing for a Josi Kilpack. Every one is a tidily written, amusing, warm regency that won't irk me with overt historical inaccuracies. I get the feeling that she isn't overly concerned with getting every detail correct, but she nails the tone that contemporary readers of regency-set novels are hoping for. And she has a serious gift for writing lovable heroes worth rooting for.
I especially loved "A Lady's Favor" because I could easily read it in a couple of hours, and next time I need a fun escape, I just might read it again.
4.5
So much adventure packed into such a short story felt a bit disingenuous, and I felt a little uneasy about the mother daughter relationship and the way it left off.
apart from those things, it was an enjoyable read filled with humor and wasted no time (or little) on unnecessary doubts or suspense. I always appreciate that in a novella. Looking forward to more from one of my favorite authors.
Love the way she writes about this time in English recency period.I lived in England for several years and have always loved stories of England.
I have been a fan of Josi Kilpack, and have read all she has published. I appreciate reading a book that I know will not have bad language.
It's very refreshing.
Josh is a talented writer
Not only that, but we share the same last name.
